Had my 2014 Tourneo Custom serviced by local dealer .1/2 hour later EML comes on and white smoke pouring out of exhaust during DPF regen.Returned to dealer they said the EGR valve was stuck open and the Dpf was 250% clogged .Replaced Dpf ,EGR valve and Fuel vapour valve and fuel filter cost £1100. 20 miles later same problem,dealer said

The valve has to be held very still for a measurement. The pot resistance is typically 5k (2k to 10k say) from end to end, with a smoothly varying resistance on the signal to either end. I have had a lot of electrical problems with the EGR on my 1.8, which is very similar. Just bad contacts inside the unit, both on the pot & the motor.

Well, since the EGR cooler has been bypassed, if the workshop has done the bypass on the EGR cooler correctly, it can't be due to this. Possible would be a warped cylinder head (if the old head was used again). Also possible is a problem with the water pump or the thermostat.

The EGR valve on the 2.5D models is vacuum controlled. Simply block (disconnect from the EGR) the vacuum line and the EGR valve will be kept closed.
